Springpod

Through the Springpod website students can gain access to a wide range of virtual work experience and university course taster sessions.   Students can research pathways, careers, employers and universities, find resources and read case studies to help them make informed choices.  

There are virtual work experience programmes from major companies and organisations where students undertake a programme that typically includes around 10 hours of online activities that can be completed to a personalised schedule.  On completion, students receive certificates that can be shared with potential employees and included on a CV.  Search here for the latest work experience programmes on Springpod  Current experiences on offer include:

The university subject taster sessions provide subject spotlights - students can sign up for a mini-lecture series delivered by top academics designed to give students a chance to experience realistic university-style learning in subjects they may want to study.   Students can search by subject area or university.  Current tasters on offer include:

• Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Toxicology subject spotlight from UCL
• English literature from University of Birmingham
• Computer science from University of Sunderland

Summer 2024 - OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

University of London Taster courses - these are usually for Year 12 students, and are one-day or half-day courses that provide an opportunity to try out a wide variety of subjects at participating universities in and around London.  Search for courses and find more information here.

Courtauld Institute Summer University Courses - these provide an opportunity for Year 12 students to explore History of Art as a university subject. Summer University enables attendees to learn from leading academics, explore current discourse in art history, and delve into collections of art.  The Courtauld will run two Summer Universities, one in-person (Discover Art History) and one online (Art and Identity). Morgan Stanley Summer Academy  Y11-Y13 - is a series of webinars aimed at students who are interested in learning more about Morgan Stanley, the industry and current key topics. Students can sign up for a series of tailored webinars running through August.  More details can be found here
