Flash Fiction with SF Said
On Thursday 29th June, our Patron of Reading, S F Said, worked in the library with one of our Year 9 classes on flash fiction. He explained that the three things which most good stories need are characters, setting and plot. He suggested ways to create these and then gave the students five minutes to write, without stopping, their first drafts. He gave them a break, talked about his own writing and then got them to think about ways to improve their stories. Five minutes re-drafting produced some superb flash fiction.
