School Nurse
Nicola Courtiour is the named School Nurse for Fortismere and explains below what the service offers to students and families.
The School Nursing Service is available to offer support to young people around their physical and emotional wellbeing for them to reach their full potential. As the School Nurse, I run a drop-in service, in school on Thursdays to discuss any concerns regarding students' physical and emotional needs. I also provide training to school staff on how to manage medical conditions such as allergies and asthma and support with care planning. I can offer bespoke health promotion sessions to groups of students as requested by the school.
School Nurses work closely with schools, particularly with the SENCO, Safeguarding Leads and the Welfare Officer, and are involved in monitoring students who are particularly vulnerable.
