Deputy Head of Year (Non-Teaching)

Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London with a strong tradition of excellence. The Co-headteachers are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to work with the Head of Year with the pastoral care of our students. The successful post holder will be knowledgeable, resourceful, energetic, and self-motivated, friendly and demonstrate a professional manner in our busy school environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to be one of our new non-teaching Pastoral Support Managers working with a range of colleagues and supporting students in a year group. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, it is essential therefore that the successful candidate is able to work under pressure, have a high level of personal drive, energy, and resilience together with relevant experience.

The successful candidate will possess:

·      A good level of ICT and administration competency, excellent communications skills, and the ability to work flexibly

·      A knowledge of working within a Pastoral team or similar

·      The ability to implement and maintain compliance and procedure across the school

·      Ability to problem solve and work inventively whilst managing a workload

LINC - Teaching Assistant

Fortismere School is looking to appoint a LINC Lead TA. This is an exciting opportunity to join our large and diverse SEND department. The successful candidate will support the leadership and implementation of our Literacy or Numeracy strategy and provision to support students with special and additional needs to overcome barriers to learning. This will include working to deliver targeted intervention programmes, overseeing a cohort of targeted students, monitoring and tracking provision and outcomes, working alongside teaching staff to ensure the curriculum and teaching strategies are supportive of targeted students. The postholder will need to have a friendly, welcoming and determined attitude, with a professional manner working with some of our most vulnerable students.

Site Assistant

Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London with a strong tradition of excellence. The Co-headteachers are looking to appoint a Site Assistant to join our Premises Team. The successful candidate will be resourceful, knowledgeable, and able maintain the highest standards of repair, cleanliness, and security in our busy school environment.

This an exciting opportunity to be part of the operations team working closely with the Director of Operations and Facilities Manager. You will need to ensure that the schools buildings, site, and furnishings are safe, secure, and maintained to Health and Safety standards.

As a Site Assistant, you will also need to ensure the opening and closing of the school buildings, which will be managed on a rotational basis by the Site Manager between yourself and three other Site Assistant, so you must be flexible as hours could change to accommodate the needs of the school.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge in general maintenance of buildings, DIY, repairs and decoration, cleaning, and general porterage
  • A good level of understanding of Health and Safety regulations and how to apply them
  • A relevant qualification or working towards one in School Site Management
  • The ability to maintain a calm and productive manner with all stakeholders across the school
  • Have knowledge of Fire procedures, First Aid procedures and Health and Safety
